Came in earlier this week to sort out my accounts. The person at the task was very friendly and made sure I understood everything. Very nice place to go to. I recommend it compared to local branches like Bletchley since it's bigger therefore being more spacious

Some staff need training, came for an ID check for a student bank account with my daughter, the staff member said we haven't done the application correctly and need to redo it, I requested her to double check as it would mean another hard credit check, she insisted that she does this every day and it's my mistake. Went away, called Nationwide 3 times and all 3 times they confirmed nothing was wrong and weren't sure why were we asked to do it again. Went back again, deliberately avoided the same person, Went to the counter, no issues, check done , account opened. Disappointing all knowing attitude with some people.
Posting this so that anyone in the same scenario doesn't have to do another application with a hard credit check on their file before double checking.

We visited this branch to open an ISA. The number of issues we had in the DIGITAL age was impossible - They would not open an ISA account without having a CHEQUE of the funds. Who carries CHEQUE BOOKS these days.
There are always other saving institutions.

My 88 year old mother has had to travel to the bank every month to get a statement for her account. The bank is incapable, despite numerous requests to send her an individual statement. They keep sending two of the same statements for a joint account. I am in the process of writing to the financial umbudsman. Appalling. My mother is worried she might go overdrawn because she does not know how much money she has in her account. She does not know what an app is.
