About
Sunnyside Up Café in Wolverton seems like a good spot for breakfast or lunch, but be ready for a bit of a wait, especially during busy times. Most folks really enjoy their food, like the "stunning" breakfasts and "delicious" burgers. One reviewer even raved about their buttered toast! It's a step up from fast food, with a cozy atmosphere and a menu with some South African flair. Prices are a bit higher than fast food, but the quality seems to be there. The staff is described as friendly and helpful by some, but others find them a little "gruff" or "sarcastic," though not in a mean way. Overall, Sunnyside Up Café seems like a solid local favorite, but plan your visit accordingly if you're in a hurry.

Ah, the Sunnyside Up Café in Wolverton—what can I say? My girlfriend and I decided to take the day off and treat ourselves to a proper breakfast. We stroll in, expecting the usual, maybe some eggs and bacon to get us through the day. But no, we were in for something much better.
It’s not just breakfast—it’s an experience. They bring you this plate, and it’s like they’ve unlocked the secret to happiness. Eggs, sausages, and buttered toast. Oh, the buttered toast. You think toast is toast, right? Nah. They’ve mastered it. Perfectly crisp, warm, and just the right amount of butter to make your heart sing but without giving you a coronary. Honestly, they could serve it as its own dish and I’d be back every week.
The atmosphere? It’s that nice, cozy kind where you feel like you’re at your mate’s house, but your mate actually knows how to cook. Coffee? Spot on. Tea? Lovely. Properly brewed, not that weak dishwater some places try to pass off.
Now, the staff... they’ve got a bit of an attitude, but in a good way. One of them made a cheeky comment about how I must’ve just rolled out of bed. Sarcastic, yes, but hey, who isn’t moody on a Friday morning? They don’t take themselves too seriously, and that’s the charm.
All in all, cracking little place. The food’s stunning, the toast is a revelation, and I’ll definitely be back. Next time, maybe I’ll even be awake enough to appreciate it properly. But one thing’s for sure—I’m coming back for more of their amazing cousins!

I have been to Wolverton many times but never knew about this cafe. I visited it for the first time yesterday and was very impressed! Loved the decor! Staff were very nice and helpful. I ordered iced coffee which was probably the best I’ve had in the country! And the breakfast was superb! Everything on the plate tasted so good! The bacon was not too salty, the sausage was lovely, the beans were yummy! I loved that they made fried bread for me as requested, and it was very nice!
We waited quite long for the food, but the cafe didn’t seem very busy. But my God! It was well worth the wait!
I had found a little gem of a cafe here! ❤️

Cafe with reasonable price for breakfasts. Prices have gone up from the previous menu photos. Few options for vegan. Food and drinks were lovely and service was good. Grab a menu and cutlery and sit yourself at a empty table and order from the bar. There is additional seating out back of the weather is nice. The entrance is shared with another eatery. Nearby free parking at Lidl.

I went there at lunchtime today with my teenage son. We both had a cheeseburger and shared some chips.
The burgers were delicious, with real cheddar and a nice salad. The chips were lovely; well cooked and seasoned. We both had a Coca Cola to drink. The whole meal cost 90p more than if we’d had a medium meal at McDonalds. But in there it would have been lame, mass produced and with a plastic atmosphere. Sunnyside is warm, welcoming, different and interesting. Their menu is varied and the whole experience was excellent. I’ll be going back with my son again, this time with my wife and daughter too, because gems like this need preserving.

This place should get 4 or 5 stars.
Food is good, menu has all the greasy spoon classics, and even some cool SA twists. Little on the expensive side.
Staff are a little gruff, but that's fine.
BUT.
Every. Single. Time I've been in here. Food has taken an eternity to arrive.
We are talking like 45 mins+
Thought I was just unlucky first go, but it then happened a couple of other times.
The most recent visit I even noticed a sign on the till saying when busy it would be a 45 minute wait. At the point I ordered it was fairly full, but nearly every table already had food.
I just don't get it as other similar places smash out food so much quicker - see the super sausage for example.
It's odd as the place is also a restaurant the rest of the day, so surely they are used to turning out large amounts of food.
Really bothered me and my wife this last time, we were so hungry and fed up that we arrived for breakfast and it ended up being lunch and we were late for everything else we had planned for the day.
Unfortunately I probably won't come back.
Plenty of other decent places to get a fry up!
Sorry!
