Ria-Jaine and Co Ltd t/a THE BEAUTY ACCOUNTANT

Absolutely shocking service. I paid thousands and was fobbed off with a complaints form before being completely ghosted. I was genuinely looking forward to working with Ria, so I was appalled by the entire experience. After spending months trying to rectify the situation, I'll definitely be looking into taking the matter further.

I engaged Ria for bookkeeping and tax support. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I initially thought everything was fine until I looked more closely, when I discovered huge inconsistencies in the 2024/25 bookkeeping which raised serious concerns about the accuracy of my 2023/24 accounts. Although a tax return for 2023/24 was submitted, I have now had to engage an accountant to recheck it.
I raised these issues formally through Ria's complaints process. I have waited over six weeks for a formal response, but have received nothing and no email was sent to request an extension, as would normally be expected under a complaints process. A payment was also continued to be taken even after I had formally disengaged which has also not been refunded.
I have also learned that, as part of the package, Ria retains control of your bookkeeping software. This meant that when I disengaged, she held the Master Admin role on Quickbooks and I was also locked out of the client portal. Please be aware, always back up your information, pay for your own bookkeeping software directly, and ensure you hold the Master Admin role yourself. Exporting data to another system is not as simple as it sounds and will require someone with experience to do this for you.

This experience has caused me significant stress and upset, and I would not want another business owner to go through the same.
I have all of this documented in emails and invoices. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this service.

Ria is so helpful and knowledgable but what I appreciate so much is her passion for helping to empower us business owners to learn the ins & outs of bookkeeping and the amazing software available for us to take advantage of & really understand the financial operations of our businesses which is something I have never experienced from an accountant before. Her guide on how to analyse your profit and loss report has been life changing and will save me a lot of time moving forward. It was super easy to follow and I can't wait for the new tutorials and guides to come. Thank you!
