I first visited Thai Modern in 2014 and then again, off and on every six months or so, until early 2017 - it was always consistently good quality. I couldn't, therefore, turn down the chance to go back this week when it arose. The nostalgia factor was strong on this occasion; memories wherever I looked. Rare.

This is an unassuming restaurant, situated just off the main Midsummer Boulevard in MK with discrete signage, it can be easy to miss. Look for the elephants outside, but don't sit on them.

Inside, the welcome is warm, and the restaurant has traditional vibes, with carved wooden furniture and those tables you get with a glass top and a little carved diorama inside. They alone invoke nostalgia, as well as reminding me of the House of Flavours. On this occasion we were seated straight away as the restaurant was quiet - a Thursday evening. The mobile signal in there is poor, but that isn't a bad thing - it drives conversation.

I recently dined at Thai Modern in Milton Keynes and was impressed by the authentic Thai experience it offers. The restaurant's ambiance, featuring hand-carved teak furniture and traditional Thai decor, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

For starters, I had the Chicken Satay, which was tender and served with a rich peanut sauce. The main course was the Massaman Curry with beef, a dish that stood out for its depth of flavor and perfectly cooked meat. The accompanying sticky rice was the ideal complement.

The service was attentive and courteous, contributing to a pleasant dining experience. While the prices are slightly higher than average, the quality of food and atmosphere justify the cost. Thai Modern is a great choice for those seeking genuine Thai cuisine in a comfortable setting.

Beautifully decorated restaurant. Service was great and efficient. And food was delicious. We had the starter platter for two and everything tasted superb.

I walked in for takeaway, and was promoting immediately ignored by the middle aged lady at the entrance, as she continued to scowl at me, I almost decided to take my business elsewhere. Then a younger lady came and took my order, you could tell she was somewhat uncomfortable and didn't want to approach to hear my order clearly. I received my food, which was catastrophically underwhelming, and struggled to finish even half. The restaurant layout looked decent, but I won't be wasting my money there ever again

Came here for a meal before the theatre and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the restaurant is beautiful and the food is absolutely amazing. We will be back!
