Star Cast Arrives for Agatha Christie Mystery

Milton Keynes audiences will soon have the opportunity to witness a classic Agatha Christie play brought to life on stage. The production of ‘The Hollow’ is set to visit the city this coming January.

The play features a significant cast of performers known for their work in theatre and television. Peter Polycarpou, a two-time Olivier Award nominee, will take on the role of the famous detective Hercule Poirot.

Joining Polycarpou are several other actors. Luke Allen-Gale, who recently filmed for the BBC alongside Bill Nighy, will play John Cristow/Inspector Colquhoun. Victoria Blunt is cast as Henrietta Angkatell, and James Clyde will portray Gudgeon.

Further cast members include Grace Darling as Midge, Kemi-Bo Jacobs as Veronica Craye, and Sarah Moyle as Lady Lucy Angkatell. Noella Naibaho is set to play Doris, with James Sheldon as Edward Angkatell and Tilly Steele as Gerda Cristow.

Dynasty Star Among Key Roles

Michael Praed, widely recognised for his roles as Robin Hood in ‘Robin of Sherwood’ and Prince Michael in the American soap ‘Dynasty’, will appear as Sir Henry Angkatell.

Praed’s extensive television credits also include ‘The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne’ and ‘Emmerdale’. His presence adds a notable television connection to the stage production.

The production is a collaboration between producers Fiery Angel and director Lucy Bailey. This team has previously brought successful UK tours of other Agatha Christie adaptations, including ‘And Then There Were None’, ‘Murder on the Orient Express’, and ‘Death on the Nile’, to audiences across the country.

A Country Estate Mystery Unfolds

Agatha Christie’s ‘The Hollow’ centres on Hercule Poirot, who expects a peaceful country retreat. However, his plans are interrupted when he becomes entangled in a complex and unsettling case.

The story unfolds at an elegant country estate known as The Hollow. A group of guests gathers on a summer evening. Beneath the surface of this seemingly idyllic gathering, underlying tensions and unresolved issues begin to surface.

The narrative involves rekindled old romances, emerging rivalries, and intense infatuations among the characters. The situation escalates dramatically with the occurrence of a fatal event.

A body is discovered at the estate, with a firearm found at the scene. The circumstances initially suggest a straightforward crime, but Poirot soon uncovers a much more intricate web of deceit and motive.

Performances of ‘The Hollow’ are scheduled to take place in Milton Keynes from Tuesday, January 19th, to Saturday, January 23rd, 2027. This engagement offers local residents a chance to experience a psychologically charged mystery from one of literature’s most celebrated crime writers.
