It’s a big day for thousands of kids in Milton Keynes—today (3 March), they found out which secondary school they’ll be starting in September.

This year, 83% of children got into their first-choice school, which is 2% more than last year. And 97% got a place at one of their top four choices. Every child who applied has been offered a school place.

Over the last 10 years, Milton Keynes City Council has added over 13,000 new school places. That includes building seven new schools and helping 27 schools expand to keep up with the growing number of students.

Councillor Joe Hearnshaw thanked the admissions team and local schools for helping so many families get the places they wanted. He said the council will keep working with schools to make sure there are enough spaces as the city continues to grow.
