Lovely riding school. Jenny and Sarah really know their stuff. My daughter loves it there.
My two daughters have been riding at Mursley Hall Equestrian for a few years now, and they absolutely love it! They always look forward to their lessons and come away with big smiles every time. They've been taught by Jenny, Jane, and Sarah -- all of whom are fantastic. Safety and fun are always top priorities, and the lessons really help the girls understand their riding and how to look after the ponies too. The teachers can be strict at times, but it's always done to keep both the kids and ponies safe -- and to wake the kids up when they're not concentrating enough! They're brilliant at building the girls' confidence and helping them keep improving. Couldn't recommend Mursley Hall enough!
My daughter has been riding at Mursley Hall Equine for a while now and we've had a really positive experience. Jenny, along with Sarah and Jane, are all excellent. Jenny has an old-school teaching style, which focuses strongly on safety and proper riding technique.
I'd seen a few negative reviews mentioning Jenny shouting -- and yes, she can be firm -- but it's clear this comes from a place of wanting the children to really learn rather than just be led around. Her approach has given my daughter so much confidence, skill and awareness in the saddle.
The horses are well cared for, the lessons are structured, and the team genuinely care about progress. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mursley Hall Equine to anyone looking for solid, quality riding instruction.
I had a number of riding lessons here (2 months, not the 6 months as stated in the terrible feedback) and sadly had an awful experience with Jenny. I hadn't ridden for a number of years and was looking for a place to get back in the saddle and build my confidence. Jenny's method is to shout and criticise rather than calmly explain what you're doing wrong and how you can improve. I didn't learn anything at all from Jenny, and I really don't feel she is interested in helping you learn. She would also moan to me about other paying customers that were coming for lessons and jest at how rubbish they were. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. Such an unprofessional experience.
I am sorry to see your review. However from the comments made in it I am surprised you continued to ride with us for over 6 months, then waited nearly two years before posting your review.
My 12 year old daughter had been receiving riding lessons for a couple of years and had previously adored horse-riding, sadly after moving house (therefore necessitating a change of stables), she attended Mursley Hall Farm for several weeks, being instructed by Jenny. After a few weeks of leaving my daughter in floods of tears through her extremely aggressive and critical manner monotonously screaming at the young girls in her care, my daughter has sadly given up horse-riding all together.
All elements of pleasure and enjoyment from the hobby are extracted through Jenny's approach to coaching, I would suggest MUCH more 'Carrot' and a lot less 'Stick' be adopted by anyone who is involved in coaching children.
I had a few lessons at this equestrian centre working with Sarah, who was gentle, patient, and very professional. Unfortunately, my last experience with Jenny was very upsetting. She was harsh and overly critical, making the session stressful rather than enjoyable. We had to stop the lesson because I broke down in tears after just 10 minutes of her "teaching." I believe coaching should be encouraging and supportive, especially for riders still building confidence. What concerns me the most is that this instructor teaches children -- as a mum myself, I'm really worried about these teaching methods. Overall, it was a very upsetting experience. Will not recommend to anyone.
Our main priorities are rider safety and the horses welfare.
Jenny and her crew do excellent horse riding lessons. We tried a few local schools first before settling here
