Whether you’re picking up sticks for the first time or wanting to push your skills further, lessons are tailored to your pace, goals and favourite music styles. Established in 2014, the academy focuses on solid technique, musicality and building real confidence behind the kit. I’ve been fortunate to study with leading UK drummers including Bob Armstrong, Ash Soan, Craig Blundell and Steve White, and I bring that experience into every session to help students get the very best out of their playing.

I decided to take up drumming at 40 and it has been a blast so far. I've learned how to read music, hold my body in the right place and listen to the music as i play, in such a short space of time! I really enjoy my sessions, Matt is patient and offers lots of different methods depending on what he thinks my brain will respond to. See you on the stage very soon! :-)

As a mature student really appreciate Matt's approach and flexibility in tutoring a person late to the drumming experience. His background as a former professional drummer brings great incites into the role of drumming in music and what it's like to perform on stage. Above all really appreciate how enjoyable he makes lessons and never ceased to be amazed at his patience when I am having a particularly bad day behind the drums! Starting as a complete novice he has enabled me to fulfill a lifelong ambition to perform live with a band in front of an audience. When Matt tutors you get access to his huge breadth of experience including advice on choice of kit and set up. My son who has autism wanted to learn to play drums, he has been doing lessons with Matt for quite some time now, starting off with just 30mins then increasing to 1hr lessons. Matt has been great!
The fact my son felt comfortable right from the start, kept up the lessons and still engaged in the online lessons during lockdown speaks volumes

Matt has been my son's drum teacher for 7.5 years or so now & is brilliant!
Not just a drum teacher but also been a great mentor for my Son, improved his confidence no end with the way he teaches, really supportive, patient & adapts his approach to get the best out of his students.
