Nice little Hotel with a great patio!
We visited here for my Nanna's birthday for afternoon tea and I had really high hopes as they said they could do a gluten and dairy free afternoon tea (they literally don't exist anywhere). The scones were incredible - warm, free, spongy without being airy (literally impossible for gluten free food) and tasted incredible. However there was a miscommunication on our part where it was not stated I was also vegetarian (totally our fault) so I could not eat 1/3 of the sandwiches (salmon and ham). When I asked if they could provide an alternative they had used up all the gluten free bread (standard sliced loaf - shop brought and slightly dry). The cakes on the top shelf were store brought (love cake raspberry sponge and lazydays chocolate tiffin and lazydays tiramasu bake) which was a little disappointing. They were also very busy (not the staffs fault as they were lovely) so food took a while and they ran out of teapots. The staff were lovely but I wouldn't recommend this place for gluten and dairy free afternoon tea when you could buy all the cakes at the shop and make similar sandwiches with better bread. I would definitely go back for the scones though as they were amazing.
Good food, but I would urge them to review their playing. Fish of the day in a bowl made it slightly tricky to eat. Tasted great however!
Really nice spot with good indoor and outdoor seating. Quick attentive service. Didn't eat on this occasion but have in the past and was excellent.
The staff at the Woburn provide great service and food in a lovely location. Thank you!
I came here for a relaxing night away.
Location is beautiful, but the room was pretty filthy, no drinkable water in the room, and felt like a burden asking for bottled water.
Very under staffed, and some were quite rude and careless. The blonde lady, I think maybe a manager, I've never seen disappear so fast and leave what felt a bit like a sinking ship. I do feel the poor service let the experience down, smiles and a little customer care goes along way.
The breakfast was pretty dry and cold, eggs benedict isn't supposed to be hard and rubbery, with overcooked cold bacon and cold and clearly jarred hollandaise. and it took over 20 minutes to recieve a cup of tea, which arrived far too long after I had finished my breakfast. The buffet was sparce, I noticed many residents looking but there was nothing left, having asked a waitress if this could be replenished, she walked away and didn't return. Shame.
Jack was the star of our stay. He was very pleasant, attentive and professional. From checking us in at reception, smiling from behind the bar, to seating us to our breakfast table, Although I noticed he was rushing around doing every job possible, I felt he is absolutely overworked. He definitely needs a promotion. And the others....... further training is needed.
My 3 stars are for Jack.
This place has great potential its such a shame. Jack can't do everything. Please do better Woburn owners.
Spotless bedroom, excellent breakfast, and nice bar.
