A lovely hotel in beautiful setting. The service was superb - I felt very welcome and was looked after for the whole stay.
The room was fine but I just had a couple of issues...a shower head that wouldn't point anywhere except at the wall unless you held it, and no sockets by the bedside.
I'll be back because it's been two great stays, but not quite 5 stars all round.

The area and location of the hotel was just perfect. Initially we were pleased as we were told our room had been upgraded. However, the room was quite shabby. There was a flashing faulty LED in the bathroom which was actually hanging out of the ceiling by its wires. The shower thermostat did not work and the water was scalding hot.

There were 100+ conference delegates and a hen-do going on for the weekend and it was clear that staff levels were woefully inadequate. Staff were lovely and tried to please but were too thinly spread. The evening meal was really poor. We had an unremarkable prawn and chorizo starter that came with a slice of bread. Very poorly presented. Two of our 5 strong group had the lamb shank and although some effort was made to present it well it was also unremarkable and quite bland. We also had to wait a long time for it so it wasn't very hot. The beef tagine chosen by two of our party was really unattractive and poorly presented with no vegetables. They said it tasted ok but not great quality. The couple on the table next to us were also unhappy and sent their steaks back which they reported to be 'inedible'.

We had a good nights sleep.

Breakfast the next morning was good except the coffee machine had very few options and broke down repeatedly. I couldn't find any staff to help me for some time.

So overall not great though the staff were lovely and tried hard against inadequate standards and resources.

Beautiful hotel peaceful, quiet and back to the nature! The room was big with lovely decorations and the breakfast was great !!

Extremely disappointed that I'd booked this for my parents 26th anniversary. It's been a shocking year and thought i'd surprise them with an overnight stay for their anniversary. They left the restaurant without having eaten dinner due to the wait time. Disappointed is an understatement.

Adding on this morning, they've found some lovely crotchless underwear in their room! Fantastic! I would recommend someone get in touch for a refund considering clearly the nights team hadn't passed on the awful experience to the morning team!

Great place for Afternoon Tea or Lunch. In Milton Keynes but feels like you're in the heart of the countryside

Just outside Milton Keynes, a beautiful hotel, very luxurious and friendly staff. The parking is free and plenty of it. I would stay again.
