Very disappointing. We stayed in Red Poll in the cow shed and after reading all the positive reviews our expectations were high. On arrival the ambience was more of industrial units than holiday accommodation. The front door opened directly into the bedroom, making it very difficult to stop the dirt outside from coming inside. There is a lovely view to the rear, across open fields. However we found the bifold doors very difficult to open and even harder to close. The outdoor seating is communal with all the other units.
Inside, the fridge was broken, leaning into its cupboard at 30 degrees, with the milk bottle holder in the door broken off and missing. The cooker contained the remains of a previous occupant's breakfast in the grill pan. The settee was very uncomfortable and covered in suspicious looking stains. The cutlery drawer was filthy, none of the cutlery matched, and all needed a good wash before use. Only 2 wine glasses, both different sizes with chipped rims. In the bathroom the toilet seat was loose and dirty, the lights in the mirror did not operate. The shower worked very well, but it was evident that the shower head had never been cleaned, and there was mould growth around the cubicle.
On the plus side, the bed was clean and comfortable, and the owner gave us a small discount, saying that she would not pay the cleaner.
Thank you for the review and we always welcome constructive feedback so that if any issues occur we can rectify them immediately along with always being on the farm so we are just a phonecall away to help with any questions of queries guests may have when they are staying with us. We also take great pride in offering our guests the perfect guest experience which is rewarded with so many lovely glowing reviews so to read this one was extremely disappointing. We are continually working hard to ensure that our guests have an enjoyable stay with directions and instructions on how to use the bi-fold doors, blinds etc sent out prior to arrival. Unfortunately the milk bottle holder had been broken the day before so we were unable to get the fridge replaced in time. This has now been done. We will of course look in to the other matters including cleanliness which was a shock to read and this is a major priority for us and again, looking at our lovely reviews, it has never been a problem before. Should there be any issues arise from our research then of course they will be rectified immediately.

I had the most wonderful and relaxing stay here. Such a beautiful setting, and such comfortable accommodation. Great facilities and so well equipped. Caroline was a most helpful, and welcoming host. Thank you very much.

Great self contained apartment extremely well appointed very comfortable bed. Kitchenette and shower room with toilet. Great views across the fields. Sheep grazing yards away. Very quiet.
