Milton Keynes Food Bank held a special charity match day event at Stadium MK earlier this month. The initiative aimed to collect donations to combat local hunger.
‘Fill the Goal’ Campaign Success
The event, part of the charity’s ‘Score Against Hunger’ campaign, set an ambitious target to collect 2,500 food items. This target was set to help restock the shelves of the local food bank, which serves many residents across Milton Keynes.
Generous Donations Received
Supporters attending the match generously donated to the cause. The event successfully gathered over 766 physical food items. Additionally, £1,320 was collected through card payments and cash donations.
Each £2 donated was treated as equivalent to five food items, meaning the monetary contributions added a significant ‘virtual’ total. This brought the overall collection to a remarkable 4,085 food items.
The Milton Keynes Food Bank expressed gratitude to MK Dons, its staff, and players for supporting the charity. The event provided a vital platform to reach a wider audience and increase community support.
