We stayed here as a family -- myself, my wife, and our young child -- booking a family room for one night. What followed was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had.
Noise (the biggest failure): I specifically requested a quiet room at check-in, and the receptionist confirmed they would accommodate this. Instead, we were placed directly next to the car park. Throughout the entire night we were subjected to loud engines, car alarms, people shouting, and what appeared to be intoxicated guests arguing outside. None of us slept. With a four-year-old child, this was not merely an inconvenience -- it was a genuinely distressing experience.
Maintenance and cleanliness: The soap dispenser in the toilet was broken and completely non-functional. When I reported this to reception, I was told -- by a member of staff who admitted to being alone on shift -- to simply use the soap from the shower instead, as "there is one in both." This response was dismissive and unhelpful. A broken dispenser is a basic hygiene issue and should have been resolved promptly.
Room facilities: The desk in the room had no chair. There were no power sockets near the beds, meaning charging a phone overnight required leaving it at the furthest point in the room from where you sleep -- a minor but telling sign of how little thought has gone into the room layout.
Staff: To be fair, the receptionist was alone and appeared stretched. However, the solutions offered to our complaints were inadequate and, at times, dismissive.
For a family paying for a comfortable overnight stay, this hotel failed on every level that matters: rest, cleanliness, basic amenities, and noise. I would strongly advise families -- particularly those travelling with young children -- to look elsewhere.
Hotel is so run down, we checked out early. I slipped in the bath, never slipped in any bath, the sign does not stop you from slipping, it basically letting you its going to happen. We found hairs in the bathroom, we had a faulty front door that would not lock. Disregarded the fact they were on the news for giving a random person an extra room key. It looked like the hotel of the news they were being attacked by the EDL. This is a family friendly hotel, yet as we had a baby, we were told to keep the noise down. When explained it was a baby, amd if we cant keep the noise down we will have to leave. As we can not stop a baby crying we left early. We had also paid for late check-out. The gentleman that was dress as a female was not very helpful or welcoming. I dont think you should have someone's going through hormonal changes on your front desk. If your on the run, about to flee the country, this is the stop for you. If you looking to have family vacation avoid this place at all costs. I have had to go to the doctors for my knee, due to slipping in bath, which has now effected my work. We changed our own bedsheets, took out our own bins, got new towels ourselves. The hospitality did not exist here. We have travelled the world as a family, even been to parts of the world you could not even imagine uet were treated better there than this Hostel.
Probably the worst budget hotel I've stayed in.
Room was so empty, windows never close fully so you can hear literally anything outside as if they were open, shower only worked properly when the water was scorching hot but dribbling when you turn the temp to a more tolerable temperature. Shampoo dispenser just opened when you try to use it. As soon as we opened our door the room just smelt like damp. Only one plug socket for the whole room.
Receptionist wasn't nice and helpful with the parking situation though!
Location is ok. Close to the big shopping mall and restaurants etc but also too close to the clubs so you get woken up by the loud drunken people at 3am, again due to windows not closing fully.
We've stayed in countless premier inns over the years and this was our first travelodge and will be our last.
We absolutely dreaded coming back to the room after going out for the evening.
As a Deaf~Blind person the staff made my two nights stop here easy.
Assistance was gracefully offered,a deaf guard alarm loaned and I was made to feel safe within this environment.
I arrived back for my second night after 11pm, was assisted back into the building perfectly.
Everyone was both cheerful and helpful.
THANK YOU
1. The celing light in the bathroom was gone.
2. Shower head was leaked
3. An uncovered pillow was given (Suprisingly, the staff said he won't find a pillow in hotel).
4. The email asking for a feedback hasn't got a link
