MK Baseball Aims for Championship Glory
The Milton Keynes Bucks Baseball Club is preparing for a significant playoff match this Saturday. Their Division 3 team will compete in the semi-finals.
This follows a dominant regular season where the team achieved an undefeated record of 21 wins and zero losses. They are the only team across all British Baseball Federation divisions to complete their regular season without a defeat.
Dominant Season Statistics
The MK Bucks’ Division 3 side has showcased exceptional performance. They recorded the most hits in the league with 298, and hit 17 home runs. Their batting average stood at an impressive .506, with a slugging percentage of .720 and an on-base percentage of .604.
Defensively, the team also excelled. They conceded the fewest runs, allowing only 77, and committed the least number of errors among the 25 teams in Division 3. This strong all-around performance led them to the playoffs.
Playoff Push Continues
Last weekend, the MK Bucks secured a decisive victory against The Oxford Kings with a score of 13-5. This win advances them to the semi-final round.
The upcoming semi-final game is scheduled for this Saturday at Woughton On The Green. The first pitch is set for 1:00 PM. The team faces The Newcastle Nighthawks in this crucial match.
A victory this weekend would see the MK Bucks advance to the championship final. This final is scheduled for the following weekend at Farnham Park, the national home of British Baseball.
The club, founded in 1986, is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Winning the championship would be a special achievement during this milestone year, especially as they aim to defend their ‘Double A’ Championship title from last season.
