Literary Inspiration for Play
The centrepiece of this new space is an impressive, large-scale hare sculpture. This artwork draws inspiration from the renowned Olney poet, William Cowper, who famously kept three hares. The play area also includes a climbing frame, a slide, and a rotating seesaw, encouraging both solo and group play.
Future Plans and Funding
The project, costing a total of £375,000, has seen its initial phase funded through Section 106 contributions. These funds are secured from property developers. A second phase, which will cater to older children, is scheduled for completion by spring 2027, promising a broader spectrum of play facilities.
